Conference Weekend

We started two traditions this year with Conference: Brian bought a puzzle to work on as we listened to the sessions; my contribution was a trip to Doug and Emmy's in Layton for a couple giant cinnamon rolls to eat Saturday morning. The puzzle was a lot of fun and the kids did pretty well not touching too much. Our enjoyment of the cinnamon rolls can be summed up by Truman's comment: "This is kind of like sugar." Yeah, kind of!

The kids have a tradition of working on "Conference homework" in a tent they make in the living room. We also enjoy a trip to Grandma Doxey's for Chinese food during Priesthood session. Libbi came up for the weekend and we had a great time with her around. We missed Sarah and in her honor McKinley called Libbi "Sawah!" all weekend.

Reagan's Photo Shoot

Expressions...

In one-hour-old talk, this expression basically says, "Please tell me, again, why exactly you needed to put that cold thermometer in my very warm armpit?"

Reagan and the "witnessess"

Jessica, Reagan's aunt on Brian's side, was also there. We only got pictures of Reagan and Jessica with Jessica's camera so those aren't up here yet.

Here Reagan relaxes with Libbi, Sarah, and Gramere. Also, Maegan is talking to her Mother (Marilee) on the phone in one of the pictures. So its like they are all there.

After 7 hours, Mommy finally gets to eat!

Reagan is held by her Aunt Libbi while Mommy gets to eat after the delivery. You can see the anti-bacterial oinment in and around little Reagan's eyes. You can't see much color in there yet, but soon enough they'll be blue.

Her First Swaddle

Here Reagan is lying on Maegan. (Which make this sound like a Dr. Seuss book). The nurse is moving the blanket up to have her swaddled. She is, maybe, 10 minutes old in this picture.

Her Very Fist Picture

She isn't more than 5 minutes old at this point. Still a little chilly no matter how many blankets. She didn't cry much. Just little whimper, whimper. As cute as you can imagine.

Great skin color for a new born, don't you think? Not Purple like Truman.

Reagan on the scale...

Already concerned about her figure, Reagan just can't handle looking at the scale.

Seriously though, that cord clip in there is probably 5% of her body weight...it would be like weighing your self with your shoes on!

Introducing Reagan Eleanor Duryea

Here is the anticipated arrival.

7lbs 7 oz. 19.5 inches long. Born on 3/21/2009 at 6:49pm.

Mom and Baby are doing fine.

Everyday Fun with the Kids

Lincoln -

Loves American Idol right now, and I am embarrassed to say his favorite contestant is Adam. Yikes. Brian says we are getting old, so his taste is probably more in touch with the younger crowd and Adam will win the whole thing. When Lincoln heard that he said we should change who we will end up liking someone who does not win. This kid hates to lose/be wrong. Wonder where he gets it?

Truman -

Dresses up in his motorcycle jacket with the Rock Band guitar to watch American Idol. I don't think he would like Adam if he saw his fingernail polish. The other day his friend Dallin was over to play and this is what I heard:

T: "Is that fingernail polish you are wearing."

D: "Yeah, I accidentally put it on."

T: Pause. "Ok, well I am not going to laugh at you. Let's go play."

Jefferson -

Came to sleep in our bed as he does nearly every night. Brian told him if he wiggled he had to go sleep in his bed. He held very still for a long time. Brian chatted and played with him and wiggled a bit. Jefferson called him on it. "Ok Dad, you wiggled, now you have to go sleep in my bed!"

McKinley -

Had her finger cut by Truman with some kid scissors. Brian and I still suspect some foul play, but Truman maintains it was an accident. She was a good sport and wore a bandage all day. It sure is cute to have her show off her "owie!"
