Brian went straight to work after the good news about changing jobs. To impress his boss he put in 14 hour days and even worked Saturday. His hands and body took a real beating, so he was glad to have a Sunday to rest from his labors. I even got to help here and there - can you guess which design element I chose? We are all very impressed at Brian's handiwork and his amazing stamina. If this is what certain unnamed individuals meant when they said he was "not handy" I will take it! Today his first project was completed and we are blogging it for posterity...
Tell us what you think...unless you don't like it then don't say anything. So, if you don't comment we will just assume you don't like it. :)
Here are 4 days of work pushed together in a slide show of about 1 minute.

Weekend Visitors...
If you can believe it we have not posted for almost a week! We enjoyed a fun weekend with Abby and Sarah here. Abby took us to the Zoo and treated us to Cafe Rio for lunch/dinner. McKinley was ecstatic to welcome a new friend. She did well at the zoo and is such a pleasant baby these days.
It is good that McK is so pleasant because Jefferson is definitely two. He likes to sit on the potty and say he has to go, but never does. Truman taught him how to climb out of bed, so with that and the diaper removal trick he likes, the good life is over when it comes to him. He still sounds so sweet when he talks. Jefferson wanted to make sure he knew where Abby was at all times.
Lincoln enjoyed showing off his bike riding skills and going to the zoo to see all the animals that start with L (like this lazy leopard lying in the sun) since he missed our last trip when he was sick on free zoo day.
Truman loves Cafe Rio and always wants to know, "Where's the guacamole?" He was very excited that an aunt who wrestles was coming for a visit. He was very sad to see her go. This is one cuddly tough guy.
Everyone enjoyed Sarah here too, but we have no pictures of her to share at this time:) Perhaps later this week.
Couldn't Resist
Maegan made me post this. I thought it was funny but it isn't meant to be rude or anything of the sort. In addition, three people now have (more?) semi-nude pictures of themselves on the internet and for that I apologize. If there were only a job that would pay me to make these I would be set as I sure think they are fun to think of. As a review: Maegan made me do it. :)

The Princess
We don't have much to say about this picture. We just think she is adorable. We went to the park on Saturday and took some pictures. This one turned out great. You can nearly see Brian taking the picture in her eye's reflection.

Enchanted
We realize that the cheese factor with this movie is very high. Regardless we thought we would share it becuase we just can't get enough of this one: aka Mickey Sticky.

eavesdropping
I just overheard the boys in the kitchen as they are painting.
Truman: "My brain is getting tired" (He often blames bad behavior on his brain making him do it, or not letting him go to bed, etc.)
Lincoln: "Just say, 'Don't be tired brain!'"
Truman: "Don't be tired brain, you idiot!"
Lincoln: "Don't say that! You will hurt your brain's feelings!"
Truman: "Oh, sorry brain."
Conference Weekend
Conference this past weekend was great with the packets people emailed us - thanks!
Lincoln actually sat through almost all four sessions! (Sat afternoon he left to watch Backyardigans) His first comment when President Monson spoke was "He has a cool haircut!" He sat on the couch and faithfully colored the tie to match each speaker and attempted the wordfinds and mazes. He can name all the Apostles by their pictures thanks to the pictures in the packet and a few hours of review he kept asking for.
Truman knows President Monson, Pres Packer, Elder Nelson, and Elder Oaks. We used some word association so he thinks Elder Bednar is Elder Doorknob. (Bed-nar to bed-knob to door-knob?). He sat through quite a bit as well, in the way he sits through things - mostly pacing or kicking the soccer ball around)
As most of you know, Lincoln and Truman wear as many outfits a day as they can sneak past Mom and all of them are as authentic sportswear as possible. Even though it is still cold they insist on shorts and a BYU or other sporting t-shirt. So, Sunday morning at 7:30 when Lincoln showed up in my room in his Sunday clothes ready for Conference I was surprised. "We all need to wear our Sunday clothes to show reverence for Jesus when we watch Conference today. Are you going to wear your dress Mom?" What can I say to that? So even Jefferson and McKinley had their Sunday best on by 10 am to sit on our couches and watch Conference. We are grateful for a very good example in our 5 year old.
He was listening to Elder Ballard's talk on young mothers and paid very close attention to the part where he spoke to the kids. When the talk was over he cleaned up the room, unloaded the dishwasher, set the table and gave me a hug every five minutes. He told Truman about the talk and Truman emptied the clean dryer into a basket and carried it upstairs into my room. He is our manual labor guy:) I guess we will be including that talk in our FHE curriculum each week:)
Lincoln also took note when Elder Ballard said we should not spend all our time on the computer, so I am sneaking this entry in before he catches me:)
We had fun with Sarah here for the weekend and she helped me make homemade granola and chocolate chip cookies.

Take the Quiz
I took the quiz, what do you think? Do we seem like a good match? Mom you better get either Tom Cruise or Mel Gibson if you take this:)
Widescreen China Video
Here are some pictures we took on our trip to China last year. Sometimes we think it more fun remembering the trip than it was actually going on it.

My Kid Did Paint That!
Inspired by the documentary, My Kid Can Paint That, this abstract art is done by Lincoln and he calls it "The All
Star." We asked how much he wanted to sell it for and he said "thirty
cents...but does that mean I have to give it to someone?" After hearing our
response he has decided to keep the painting for his personal collection.
Truman Painted the below picture and calls it "Colorful". We
asked how much he wanted to sell it for and he said, "Forty". Forty what?
"Just Forty."
Katie is Getting a MINI VAN!!!!
When Truman first saw these pictures he said: "they got a convertible!" talk about looking on the bright side.

This is a picture of Brian's Sister's (Katie) car (no one was
in it) that got crushed by a tree in a pretty significant (obviously) storm
tonight. Wow. I think that tree needs to grow some root...how does a tree that
big just get ripped out of the ground like that? Wow. We are glad she is okay
and these pictures are crazy fantastic. She should send them into the local news
and I bet they would get on.

One of the boys is getting mauled while Lincoln is showing his mad-skills through traffic
which led to another wide open score. (Center) Lincoln kicks a goal kick and almost scores on the other end; He was about 2 feet wide right after the ball rolled about 30 yards.
(Right)
Lincoln in action here trying to save the ball from going out of bounds.
(Left)
Truman at his specialty here: defense. Brian is just so amazed that he can get his hips so low and still shuffle. He was even boxing some kid out today on a throw in. We thinks its because he has to play
against Lincoln in the front yard all day long that he ends up being such a good
defender. He is the only kid who is able to stop Lincoln and does a pretty good
job at stopping the other teams best scorer. Today he took out a 3 on 1
opportunity and it was actually pretty impressive for being just a bunch
of 5 year olds (except Truman who is 3) playing soccer. (Center) Truman Showing some more
defensive skills as he blocks the
kids (far left) kick and heads to the goal. (Right) Truman is in great position
here but the pass doesn't come quick enough. By the time it eventually gets
there Truman jacks it far right as the pile of 5 year olds were surrounding.
Lincoln Scores a Goal!
Once again the Silver Transformers Dominated. The score was something like 5 or 6 to 1 with Lincoln scoring all of the goals. Truman got real close on another one and it coulda shoulda. Here is a snapshot sideshow of Lincoln scoring.
