Reagan's First Smile

This video was meant to capture the three littlest at their cutest. FYI, McKinley calls binkies "are you's" and says "you're welcome" for thank you when I hand her a binky. The smile comes at the end, so sorry this is a longer video, but enjoy!

REAGAN'S BIGGEST FAN...

CAN YOU GUESS WHO?

Easter Sunday

The Easter Bunny went to get things to fill baskets Saturday night and found none of the good chocolate candy on her list. So the kids had marshmallows and jolly ranchers in their eggs, along with an apple and a bag of microwave popcorn in their baskets.

Following the tradition of my parents, their baskets were hidden by the Bunny somewhere in the house, as was a ball with their name on it - one of those colorful plastic balls from the cages in the store. They had a great time searching, Lincoln being the most excited to find his hidden in Reagan's car seat.

Sunday was Reagan's first day at church - we made it through church with all 5 kids, only spending the last 15 minutes of Sacrament meeting in the mother's lounge when Reagan got hungry. For some reason I have no pictures of her from the day:(

After church we enjoyed an Easter Egg Hunt at Gramere and Grandpa's in Layton.

Favorite parts of the day:

Dressing McKinley (and Reagan) for church. This is post nap, so the hair is a bit wild. And listening to Jefferson talk about "Beaster" and all his "Beaster eggs".

Truman ate his dinner like a champ so he could have dessert and I loved watching him stride purposefully through the backyard on a mission to find the eggs. Lincoln asked if the Easter Bunny was real or if it was just the parents hiding baskets and treats. Pause... We asked him if Easter would be as fun if there were no Bunny and he still got a basket and treats. He thought it would unless he actually got to see the Easter Bunny sometime.

We didn't talk about the Easter Bunny at all this year cause we would rather the kids think the baskets and eggs were a fun tradition even without a mythical creature and focus on the real meaning, but if we dispel one myth will it lead to questioning another? We did not want to take the chance.

Just goes to show that the window of childhood is pretty small. They don't understand Santa, etc until they are 3 or so and they outgrow it by the time they are 10. Too short! That is why we have to have more kids I guess:) No, that is not an announcement, but we are wondering if Katherine has one to make??? Just teasing:), but do you?

Popcorn Easter Egg Fun

Thanks Mom and Dad for sending the fun popcorn egg decorating kit. The kids had a blast - the debris from which you see strewn about the kitchen in these pictures!

Conference Weekend

We started two traditions this year with Conference: Brian bought a puzzle to work on as we listened to the sessions; my contribution was a trip to Doug and Emmy's in Layton for a couple giant cinnamon rolls to eat Saturday morning. The puzzle was a lot of fun and the kids did pretty well not touching too much. Our enjoyment of the cinnamon rolls can be summed up by Truman's comment: "This is kind of like sugar." Yeah, kind of!

The kids have a tradition of working on "Conference homework" in a tent they make in the living room. We also enjoy a trip to Grandma Doxey's for Chinese food during Priesthood session. Libbi came up for the weekend and we had a great time with her around. We missed Sarah and in her honor McKinley called Libbi "Sawah!" all weekend.

Reagan's Photo Shoot

Expressions...

In one-hour-old talk, this expression basically says, "Please tell me, again, why exactly you needed to put that cold thermometer in my very warm armpit?"

Reagan and the "witnessess"

Jessica, Reagan's aunt on Brian's side, was also there. We only got pictures of Reagan and Jessica with Jessica's camera so those aren't up here yet.

Here Reagan relaxes with Libbi, Sarah, and Gramere. Also, Maegan is talking to her Mother (Marilee) on the phone in one of the pictures. So its like they are all there.

After 7 hours, Mommy finally gets to eat!

Reagan is held by her Aunt Libbi while Mommy gets to eat after the delivery. You can see the anti-bacterial oinment in and around little Reagan's eyes. You can't see much color in there yet, but soon enough they'll be blue.

Her First Swaddle

Here Reagan is lying on Maegan. (Which make this sound like a Dr. Seuss book). The nurse is moving the blanket up to have her swaddled. She is, maybe, 10 minutes old in this picture.
